Dynautics recently ran a tailored training day for its long-standing client, HydroSurv, designed to rapidly familiarise HydroSurv’s customer and end user, Survey Genix, on the control systems of their recently acquired REAV-16 USV.
Exeter-based HydroSurv offers end-to-end hydrographic, geophysical and environmental data acquisition, processing and interpretive reporting services. Their highly portable REAV-16 USV was developed for autonomous survey operations on inland waterways and at nearshore coastal sites.
The format of the training day, developed jointly between Dynautics and HydroSurv CEO David Hull, comprised an initial classroom session, enabling delegates to remotely-control the vessels in a simulated, safe and controlled environment, before leading in to live, on-water training in Westhampnett, near Chichester.
Dynautics has worked with HydroSurv on mission management systems for their USVs since 2019. The two companies are now collaboratively adding value to their technology offering with a comprehensive, ongoing training and familiarisation programme. A HydroSurv REAV-16 USV is being built specifically to enable this initiative, which will be available to all HydroSurv USV customers in the near future.
“As a provider of USV systems, HydroSurv recognise that our customers need to know they’re supported technically and operationally up to the point of delivery and surviving its completion. Working collaboratively with the team at Dynautics to develop improved training solutions, our new REAV-16 training USV enables customers to begin hands-on training for Spectre equipped USVs from the start of the project.” David Hull, CEO, HydroSurv
